Choral Singing Day

Ipswich Chamber Choir had a day of challenging but enjoyable choral singing, working on three rarely performed choral gems. The day explored 400 years of choral masterpieces spanning from the sublime polyphony of Victoria's 'Officium Defunctorum' to the powerful emotion of MacMillan's 'Seven Last Words from the Cross' via the bubbly Baroque fun of JS Bach's Advent Cantata BWV36.

Our talented Music Director Benedict Collins Rice has great skill at vocal coaching and interpretation.  He helped us improve our vocal technique and guided us towards a satisfying performance at the conclusion of the day.
